Season Finale Awaits Gerloff At Jerez

Kawasaki WorldSBK Team rider Garrett Gerloff is now heading to the final round of the FIM 2026 Superbike World Championship with his eyes set on three more strong race finishes to ensure he maintains his current top ten championship ranking.

Now sitting ninth after a positive and increasingly confident season on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR, Kawasaki’s Texan WorldSBK rider and his Italian-based team have frequently finished inside the top six in races.

The measurable consequence of these results, and other points scores in the previous 11 rounds, is that Gerloff is 19 points behind the rider in eighth position and 23 points ahead of the rider in tenth. With a maximum of 62 points for any rider who wins all three Jerez WorldSBK races, there is still much to play for.

So far, Garrett’s best single race result in 2026 is fourth, scored in Race One at Autodrom Most. In Superpole Qualifying, Most was also the venue for his best pre-race performance of sixth.

After the previous round at Estoril last weekend, Garrett headed straight back home to America, and he now travels back for the Jerez WorldSBK weekend as a new father.

The Jerez weekend will be a busy one for all in the paddock, as all four classes that operate inside the overall WorldSBK umbrella will be competing in their final rounds. Garrett and the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team will remain in partnership in 2027, aiming for even higher levels of success.

On Friday, 16 October, Gerloff will take part in two free practice sessions at the 4.423km long Andalusian circuit, then on Saturday there will be FP3, Superpole Qualifying, and a 20-lap Race One. Sunday, 18 October, will wrap up the competitive season with a ten-lap Superpole Race and then a final 20-lap Race Two.

Garrett Gerloff stated: “I am going through a particularly happy period, not only as a rider, given the results from the last few rounds and the progress we have made with our bike, but also as a person, as I have become a father. This fills me with happiness and gives me even more motivation. I know the Jerez circuit very well and really enjoy riding there, although we encountered some difficulties last year. My aim is to finish in the top five, bringing the 2026 season to the best possible conclusion and thanking my team, who have always given me tremendous support.”
