In its second year in in its official KMC level, the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team, based in Reggio Emilia, Italy, has not just double its rider count to two, but brought back one of the all-time WorldSSP greats - Dominique Aegerter.

A strong 125 GP and Moto2 racing career for the Swiss star eventually came to an end and he moved into the WorldSSP Championship, with Yamaha in 2021. His impact was almost immediate and by the end of the season untouchably so, as he won the championship at the first time of asking.

He repeated that championship-winning feat in 2022 feat, and ended up that era of his WorldSSP career with 27 race wins. He also added the MotoE title to his list of personal honours, in 2022. Whether powered by gasoline or electric technology, Dominique was proving to be master of both.

The obvious next step was to race in WorldSBK and Dominique duly took part in three consecutive season for the satellite Yamaha GYTR GRT squad, from 2023 to 2025. He secured two podiums in his first season, at the final round in Jerez. one in particular being a stand-out ride, as he finish third, but within only 0.321 seconds from the race winner. He would end his ‘rookie’ WorldSBK year in overall eight place in the championship table.

Some injuries, even some incurred while training, did not help Aegerter’s subsequent campaigns in 2024 and 2025, and he elected to return to WorldSSP, but this time with Kawasaki.

Teamed-up with the already podium-capable talent of Jeremy Alcoba in a doubling of the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team’s ambitions for 2026, one of the all-time greats of the middleweight production-derived scene - Dominique Aegerter - is back in the scene, looking to get back to winning ways.
