Three-in-a-row for Francisco Garcia

Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki's Francisco Garcia maintained his 100% record in the FIM European EMX250 Motocross Championship chase with his third consecutive win of the season in the first race of round two at Frauenfeld in Switzerland. And Jake Cannon completed another 1-2 for the team.

Garcia emerged seventh from the tight first turn but was immediately on the move, making a series of clever passes to complete the opening lap already in fourth and he maintained the momentum, making more decisive passes through a tricky chicane to ease past teammate Cannon for the lead at the end of lap six. Quickly building a cushion with the fastest laps of the race the Spanish youngster controlled the race from the front to eventually take the chequered flag four seconds clear of his teammate and seven seconds clear of the next opponent to extend his series lead to fifteen points.

Cannon showed that he has learnt to be more aggressive during the early laps as he needed just three corners to race into second from fourth leaving turn one and he quickly raced onto the rear wheel of the leader. The Australian teenager already took the lead temporarily on lap three and moved to the front decisively when he scrubbed under his rival two laps later. Garcia soon followed him through and took over at the front next time round as the Green duo raced clear for another Bud Kawasaki 1-2. Cannon has confirmed his second place in the series standings, fourteen points ahead of the nearest rival, and Kawasaki now heads the Manufacturers' standings by seventeen points.

Francisco Garcia: "I didn't take the best start but I could soon see the leaders and make some good passes to win again. It's nice to win again but the championship is long so I need to keep my feet on the ground and stay calm. I really enjoyed that moto. The track was quite fast this morning so I didn't stress in practice, but it was more bumpy and technical for the race; I had good lines and I had a lot of fun on the bike."
