Bacon shines at Campionato degli Assoluti d’Italia

Kyron Bacon and the MGR Racing Team have made their debut in the Campionato degli Assoluti d’Italia. The Tasmanian rider and the Kawasaki-backed team entered Italy’s top national enduro series in Caltanissetta.

The usual three special tests – Cross Test, Enduro Test, and Extreme Test – repeated four times on Saturday and three times on Sunday, challenged the best riders in the discipline. The line test opened the event with its route through the Sicilian woods. The extreme test then pushed riders with its natural obstacles, while the cross test allowed them to fully express their speed, ultimately deciding the standings on both days.

From Saturday, Kyron Bacon showed great speed aboard his Kawasaki KX, gaining more and more confidence with both the bike and the tests. He finished Day 1 in 13th place overall and 8th in the class reserved for foreign riders. However, the best was yet to come: on Sunday, Kyron raised his pace even further, proving more effective and faster. He secured a top 10 overall finish and 9th place in the “Foreign Riders” class, setting competitive times alongside the riders he will face in the second round of the EnduroGP World Championship in Spain, scheduled from May 1st to 3rd.

Enrico Garelli – Team Manager: “I’m really happy with this weekend. The team worked very well, putting in great effort and doing an excellent job. Kyron also performed brilliantly. The times from this weekend give us confidence for Spain. For now, we head home with positive feelings and a strong desire to keep working.

Kyron Bacon: “I’m happy with the weekend. My speed was good, and I set strong times in every test. It’s back to work now, focusing on the second GP of the season.”
