The final round featured four special tests – two Cross Tests, an Enduro Test and an Extreme Test – each contested three times on both Saturday and Sunday. The fast and flowing Cross Tests put a premium on outright speed, while the woodland Enduro Test and the Extreme Test, combining man-made obstacles with naturally challenging terrain, demanded precision and technical skill. Heat, dust and deep ruts were key challenges of both race days, providing a demanding and spectacular finale to the 2026 championship.

Bacon got the weekend off to a strong start in Friday evening’s Super Test, laying the foundations for Saturday’s racing. The Tasmanian started Day 1 with times just outside the Top 5 in the highly competitive E2 class before settling into a consistent pace and securing sixth place at the finish.

On Sunday, Bacon continued to build confidence with his Kawasaki and improved his pace throughout the special tests, consistently setting faster times as the day progressed. However, a crash in the final Enduro Test cost him valuable time and ultimately prevented him from fighting for an even stronger result. Despite the setback, Kyron recovered to finish fifth in E2.

Bacon completes his rookie E2 campaign sixth in the 2026 championship standings, underlining his potential in the class and showing clear room for further progression as he continues to gain experience at the highest level of Enduro competition.

“I’m happy with the weekend. The speed and the pace were there, especially on Sunday, so it’s just a shame about the crash in the Enduro Test. I’m happy with how I felt on the bike and, overall, with the way this final GP went.”
