Motorland Beckons For Kawasaki WorldSBK Team

American Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) will begin the final quarter of the season at the Spanish venue of Motorland Aragon, between 26-28 September.

The entire Italian-based Kawasaki WorldSBK Team may be looking forward to this round with particularly high levels of enthusiasm as it is a venue that Gerloff and his Ninja ZX-10RR have tested at recently, during the long mid-season summer break.

Round ten of the championship will see yet another return of WorldSBK racing to one of the most ambitious and expansive venues in Europe. The 5.077km-long Motorland Aragon layout provides a stern test for riders and their machines, with a hugely long back straight and several areas of heavy braking into downhill corner entries.

Garrett is currently 16th in the overall championship standings, with a best single race performance of sixth place, which was taken in Race Two at Donington Park. Gerloff has enjoyed some strong results at Motorland in the past, with the most recent of his two Aragon podiums being secured there last season.

After two Free Practice sessions on Friday 26 September, the WorldSBK riders will then take part in one final FP3 session on Saturday, before Tissot-Superpole Qualifying and a full distance 18-lap Race One. Sunday will feature the ten-lap Superpole Race and a final 18-lap Race Two.

Garrett Gerloff stated: “I really like the Motorland Aragon and scored two fifth places and a third-place finish last season. A fantastic weekend that I’d love to repeat again this year. We completed some very productive tests here about a month ago and will try to make use of all that hard work to score good race results. I’m optimistic and very determined to achieve the kind of results that the team and I deserve.”
