As Garrett’s first year as a Kawasaki rider nears its conclusion, he and his Italian-based team, under the control of Team Principal Manuel Puccetti, will be working together to find the ideal machine set-up to take on the challenge of the classic Estoril circuit.
The 4.182km long layout features a vast array of different corner styles, from the super-tight uphill chicane at T9-T10 to the long exit of the final Parabolica corner, T13. This will be WorldSBK’s fifth visit to the long-established Portuguese circuit in recent times. It will be the seventh Estoril round in all for WorldSBK, after two race meetings were held there in the early years of the championship.
Gerloff secured two of eight WorldSBK podium finishes at Estoril, early in his WorldSBK career, and will be working hard pre-race this year to match or better his best results of the current campaign. Sixth place in Race Two at Donington Park is his personal best in the 2025 season so far, with a best qualifying performance of eighth being earned at Most.
Friday of race weekend in Portugal begins with two Free Practice sessions, with an FP3 session on Saturday, shortly before Tissot-Superpole Qualifying and the first 21-lap race. Sunday will feature the ten-lap Superpole Race and the second and final 21-lap Race Two.
The WorldSBK championship will feature another big finish this year, with the forthcoming Estoril round taking place just one weekend before the series finale, which will be held at the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, between 17-19 October.
Garrett Gerloff stated: “I like the Estoril track because it’s technical, with a good mix of slow and fast turns. I took away good results last year and will do all I can to repeat that this time. We didn’t get what we deserved in Spain, in the previous Motorland Aragon round. I can’t wait to work with the team and get back on my Ninja to make up for that, so that we can finish this championship in the best possible way.”
