Jeremy is hoping to have just as strong a qualifying performance at the Circuito Estoril in Portugal this coming weekend as he had at the previous round, when he launched off the front row of the grid in Race One.
Jeremy was ultimately disappointed with his tenth place and then a no-score at Motorland two weeks ago; so much so that he will be aiming to finish even better than his season-best fourth place, which he secured in Race Two at the Magny-Cours round in early September.
A strong starting position at Estoril should help Alcoba and his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 machine to be part of the fight for the strongest possible points scores. He has already secured three top five race finishes, but wants even better results before the season is out.
After Superpole Qualifying on Friday 10 October, the 18-lap Race One on Saturday gets underway at the 4.182km long Estoril circuit, with Race Two completing the Portuguese WorldSSP action on Sunday.
After Estoril there will be a quick cross-border dash to get to the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto for the final round of the year, which will be held between 17-19 October.
Jeremy Alcoba stated: “I haven’t raced at Estoril for eight years, but I like the track. The weather can be a factor because it can go from rain to muggy heat. At the last Motorland round, we started well before finishing with a few difficulties. In Portugal, I want to start strong and end the weekend just as strong, perhaps with a nice podium! The team and I will do our best, as ever.”
