A vast summer break since the previous round in the UK was punctuated last week by a two-day test session for the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team, at their home circuit of Cremona in Italy.

The lessons learned from the test will be particularly useful when Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 riders Aegerter and Alcoba return to Cremona for the tenth round of the year. Before that of course, there is the important matter of the Magny-Cours weekend and the opportunities it holds for both riders.

As things stand in the WorldSSP championship table, Jeremy is seventh overall, with 126 points, while Aegerter is 17th, on 37 points.

Jeremy has been on the podium this season, in the first race at Donington Park in July. Aegerter is out to improve on his best result of the year to date, which was a sixth place in Race One at Assen in April.

The WorldSSP class will feature two 19-lap WorldSSP races at Magny-Cours, the first on Saturday 5 September and the second on Sunday 6 September. Before that, Superpole qualifying will be run on Friday 4 September.

After Magny-Cours, the next round for Jeremy and Dominique will be at Cremona, between 25 - 27 September.

Jeremy Alcoba, stated: “Seeing how the Cremona tests went, I can’t wait to get on track at Magny-Cours and make use of the technical updates and solutions we found during testing. I like the French track; it’s very varied and technical, and I only just missed a podium here in Race Two last year. I hope I can be fast from Friday in order to run two strong races and fight for the podium. I’ll do my best to round out this championship in the best possible way.”

Dominique Aegerter, stated: “The summer break was too long for me, and I struggled to be away from the races for so long. I did some MX races in Switzerland, just to stay in shape, and then we had a two-day test at Cremona, which was really useful in allowing us to get back up to speed and regain feeling with the bike. Magny-Cours isn’t far from Switzerland, so I almost consider it a home track and will have many fans and sponsors there. As always, we’ll give it our all in order to obtain good results and kick off this final phase of the championship in a positive fashion.”
